All Natural and NON-Processed Ground Himalayan Salt

Yes, as far as the salt shaker goes, Himalayan Salt is where it’s at.

This salt is the purest, most naturally mineralized salt available to the average consumer. According to the Global Healing Center, Himalayan Salt contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body. Over the past 250 years the crystal form of the salt has been maturing under intense tectonic pressure; this eliminates the opportunity for toxin exposure or impurities to develop within the salt. (1) This is an AWESOME discovery my friends, and especially when compared to table salt which, being the informed consumers you are, I’m sure you’re aware of not only the lack of nutritional benefit it contains, but the danger it poses to our health as well.

Quick Pros and Cons of Table Salt (Sodium Chloride)

Pros

  1. It supplies about 2% iodine (which can be obtained alternatively by sea kelp, haddock fish, some dairy products, or an iodine supplement), a nutrient important for thyroid function.
  2. It’s the cheapest way to give flavor to and preserve foods (er, kind of sounds like a con to me but..)

Cons

  1. It is the most proccessed form of Salt; bypassing ANY hope of it being natural or healthy.
  2. Many Table salts (including some refined sea salts) contain harmful added anti caking ingredients (like sodium aluminosilicate).
  3. Sodium Chloride is a damaging chemical that introduces toxins into our body when consumed and which our bodies will struggle to expel.
  4. Pure Sodium Chloride causes dehydration in our bodies in attempts to extract water from our cells as a way to recover from the toxin damage wreaked by consuming said sodium chloride.

A Few Pros and Cons of Himalayan Salt

Pros

  1. Oral Hygiene: By adding a small amount of Himalayan salt to fresh water, letting the crystals dissolve, and gargling, this aids in preventing Halitosis.
  2. Detoxification and helping to reduce acne: Himalayan salt works as a detoxifier. The toxins in the body as well as under the skin can be one of the causes of skin disorders such as acne. Learn more about detoxifying with Himalayan Salt here: detox with salt, say what!?
  3. A study conducted at the University of Graz in Austria found that people who consumed water with Himalayan crystal salt daily experienced improvement in respiratory conditions, organ functions, and connective tissues. Participants also reported sleeping better and having more energy. The study noted a boost in the ability to achieve higher concentration levels. Some of the study participants stated they lost unwanted weight while others involved in the study showed enhanced hair and nail growth. (2)

Cons

  1. $$ Because of the high quality and value of Himalayan Salt it will run around $20.00 for around 21 ounces–> fancy salt for fancy benefits

What is more; as a side note, this salt’s unique cellular structure allows it to store vibrational energy. Its minerals exist in a colloidal form, meaning that they are tiny enough for our cells to easily absorb them.
