Detox your body and your soul with…

The ‘Miracle’ Drink

and it tastes EVEN more awesome than it looks... (I know : O )

Ok so maybe it doesn’t perform instantaneous divine miracle acts persay, but WOW, this drink is fuggin’ awesome. It’s like hippie champagne sent to Earth from the Gods. Not only is it ridiculously tasty, but it’s beneficial for your body too! Kombucha has been shown to be an effective metabolic balancer (helping the various organs work together), probiotic (supporting the beneficial bacteria), adaptogen (balancing processes that may become out of kilter) and detoxifier. (1) The culture, known as the mother or a Scoby (used in the fermentation and production of Kombucha), has a wide range of organic acids; to name a few:

  • lactic acid (essential for healthy digestion, through its derivative lactobacilli, and for energy production by the liver, and is beneficial for those with cancer who have trouble naturally producing this acid).
  • acetic acid (an antiseptic and inhibitor of pathogenic bacteria, vitamins and enzymes).
  • Citric acid (an anti-ascorbic and provides a good dose of vitamin C which is helpful for detoxification, vitality, and immune function).
  • glucuronic acid (normally produced by a healthy liver and is a powerful detoxifier). (1)

This culture even contains the full range of B vitamins, particularly B1, B2, B6 and B12, which assist in processing fats and proteins and are vital for the function of the nervous system.

And for those who are trying to drop some of those annoying lb’s, I’m about to make your day; Kombucha is by far the most effective appetite suppressant I’ve ever come across. So am I like, totally blowing your mind with this information yet?

But wait, don’t get too excited. Did I mention this stuff costs a heart breaking $3.99 per 16 oz bottle at most health food stores?

Whoops…but hey, you could always buy a kit online (or acquire the supplies your self) and make your own (I’m not going to pretend like I haven’t seriously looked into it..) Despite it’s brief spif with the FDA for containing a wee bit of alcohol (.5%) Kombucha is rapidly gaining a pretty respectful street cred. among health food store lingerers everywhere.

GT’s Kombucha has come to be a staple in my liquid repetroir and has turned my day around on numerous occasions when nothing else would do the trick (sorry chocolate, but with only 60 calories a bottle ‘the kind by GT’s/Syngery, depending on the flavor’, Kombucha provides me with many, many, many sips of guilt freaking free pure indulgence).

So please, for the love of your own good fortune, don’t let it’s slightly questionable appearance turn you off; prepare for life changing (slight dramatization) experiences after just one sip of this premium body beautiful elixir.

**For those health gurus who want to mix it up at your next cocktail party, try my Kombucha Sunrise! (YUM)
