Ingredients and Tools:

  • Raw Almonds
  • Pure Water
  • Blender
  • Cheesecloth (find at your local grocery or health food store) or nut milk bag (easy to make or buy cheap online) for straining

Prep cheesecloth or nut milk bag for pouring-wrap a tight rubber band around container or recruit your friends digits to snag a grip

Step 1. Pour 1 part almonds (I soaked mine overnight first for optimal blending, but it sure isn’t necessary) and 3 parts pure water in Blender (for creamy milk consistency)

Step 2. Blend on High Speed Until Smooth (about 2 minutes for medium grade blender, 1 minute for high quality, i.e Vitamix/Blendtec.

Smooth consistency you’re going for pre-pour

Step 3. Pour into Nut Milk Bag or Cheesecloth covered bowl, held in place by rubber bands or another set of human hands

Friends are for holding your nut milk bags

Step 4. Strain until you have as little water in almond pulp as possible

You can add any flavor extract you like-Vanilla, Chocolate, Peppermint, Maple…

Pour into a tightly sealed jar to store for up to a week.

To make almond flour, set oven to 200 degrees F and spread almond pulp evenly over a baking mat set inside baking pan for about an hour to dehydrate.

Alternatively you could put in your shnazzy dehydrator and do that raw thang you do.

I bought the non stick sheet from Frontier Herbs for under 10 bucks….WAY worth it if you ever bake or make your own veggie/kale chips-it pays itself off in 1.5 uses

You can seal the dehydrated almond flour in a bag and store in your fridge for a few months.

I made Gooey Cookie Cereal out of my dehydrated almond meal:

  1. Pulse melted Coconut Oil and Cacao Butter, Soaked Dates, Maple Syrup, Turmeric, Maca Powder and Real Salt in food processor
  2. Pour over dehydrated Almond Meal, Cacao Nibs, and Goji Berries
  3. Stir until slightly gooey and pour Almond Milk over top OR roll into cookie balls with hands onto a cookie sheet and refrigerate for a few hours : )
